Reena Singh

Reena Singh (b. 1974) is a contemporary Indian artist whose abstract paintings are deeply influenced by nearly a decade of artistic engagement in Banaras. Her visual vocabulary draws from the narrow streets, Ganga Ghats, old havelis, and bustling Chowk-Chauraha of the city. Through vibrant colours and abstract forms, Singh explores different times, lights, and places, expressing themes of celebration and the fulfilment of life. Her reinterpretation of Banaras’s distinctive urban spaces gives them a new visual dimension while reflecting the city’s enduring attraction for people from around the world. Singh earned her MFA in Painting from the Faculty of Visual Arts, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Her works are held in collections across India and internationally, including the USA, Italy, London, Mauritius, Spain, and Germany.
