Rameshwar Singh

Rameshwar Singh (b. 1946) is an Indian artist whose carefully constructed compositions draw deeply from the rich artistic traditions of Rajasthan. He earned his M.A. in Drawing and Painting from Udaipur University in 1982. His artistic practice is strongly influenced by ancient scriptures and classical architecture, which provide a structured foundation for his visual narratives. Within these carefully composed spaces, Singh integrates figures, forms, and mythological themes, creating works that bring together tradition, symbolism, and visual structure. A distinctive feature of his practice is the extensive incorporation of written scripts, including Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and English. By weaving diverse forms of language directly into his compositions, Singh creates layered visual narratives in which text becomes an integral element of the artwork.
