Rajesh Deb (b. 1979) is a contemporary Indian printmaker known for complex woodcuts, layered imagery, and an engagement with contemporary society. He completed his Master of Visual Arts at Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, where he developed a strong foundation in printmaking, drawing, carving, and composition. His compositions bring together figures, animals, architectural fragments, mechanical structures, symbols, and references to contemporary visual culture. His work explores themes including technological development, environmental concerns, political uncertainty, information, urbanisation, and social change. Deb has received awards including the Rabindra Bharati University Annual Exhibition Awards in 2004 and 2005, the Nirad Baran Smriti Award in 2006, and the University Gold Medal in 2006.
