Hemavathy Guha

Hemavathy Guha was born in Karaikudi, Tamil Nadu, India, and was educated in Delhi and Chennai. Interested in fine arts from childhood, her artistic practice has consistently focused on people, their problems, and the environment. While her earlier works were primarily concerned with her immediate surroundings, her practice has gradually expanded to address global and universal issues. Guha draws inspiration from the work of Andy Warhol, whose artistic approach has influenced her creative perspective. She has also been motivated by the life and dedication of Barbara Hepworth, particularly her ability to balance motherhood and an enduring commitment to her artistic practice. Through her work, Guha continues to explore human experiences, social concerns, and environmental themes from an increasingly broader perspective.
