Bharat Bhushan Singh

B. B. Singh holds an MFA in Painting from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi. His artistic practice is deeply influenced by the splendour of ancient cities, particularly the distinctive character of Benaras. His works bring together elements of realism and abstraction, reflecting his interest in the changing atmosphere and visual rhythm of urban life. Singh demonstrates a strong understanding of light and shadow, often portraying illuminated houses and city scenes at dusk with a compelling sense of depth and mood. Through his paintings, he seeks harmony within the complexity and apparent chaos of city life. In 2007, he was awarded by the All India Fine Arts & Crafts Society, New Delhi, with the award presented by eminent artist Satish Gujral. In 2010, he was invited by the Commonwealth Games Organizing Committee, Delhi, to participate in “200 Days to Go.” He lives and works in Delhi.
