Abhijit Bhattacharya, born on 6 September 1972 in Siliguri, West Bengal, is an Indian painter based in Kolkata. He earned a Bachelor of Visual Art degree from the Government College of Art & Craft, University of Calcutta, in 1997. Deeply inspired by nature and humanity, Bhattacharya explores the relationship between the two through his paintings. His work often expresses the beauty of nature through the representation of human physical beauty, reflecting his belief that they are interconnected.
Bhattacharya has participated in numerous solo, duet, and group exhibitions across Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, and Siliguri. His exhibitions include shows at Taj Bengal, Bajaj Art Gallery, Academy of Fine Arts, and ICCR Art Gallery. His recognitions include a State Government First Award in Water Colour in 1994, a Certificate of Merit in 1996, and an award from the Government College of Art & Craft in 1997.
