Murlidhar Sadashiv Joshi (1912–2001) was an Indian artist born in Nashik, Maharashtra, who studied under D. D. Deolalikar, founder of the Indore School of Art. His works are characterised by bold brushstrokes and vibrant colours, particularly in his gouache and watercolour paintings. Combining Indian aesthetics with influences from global art movements, Joshi sought to assimilate academic realism with his immediate surroundings. His cityscapes and landscapes often feature architectural elements, depth, and a subdued yet textured palette. His works are held in several reputed national and international collections. Joshi was also a passionate educator and a founding member of the Model Art Education Society and Institute in Dadar, Mumbai, where he later served as principal. He also directed Marathi theatre productions for the institute.
